Ireland will no longer be a tax haven for big business

In response to external pressure, Ireland agreed to bring its tax legislation in full compliance with the strict requirements of international rules applicable to corporate taxation.

This means that large multinational companies will no longer be able to count on the favorable tax rate of 12.5%, thanks to which Ireland had the status of a completely legal European tax haven.

Back in July, the Irish authorities, which had previously attracted lucrative tax giants such as Apple, Google and Facebook, refused to commit to raising the minimum corporate tax rate to 15% (as part of an international agreement promoted by the OECD). By this time, the government had changed its position, admitting that the final decision was not easy for him.
