Teachers die from COVID, schools close

One of the educational districts in central Texas announced the temporary closure of all schools in its territory. The decision was made after the death of two teachers from complications of the new coronavirus pneumonia.

The Connally Independent School District has identified the teachers who have been victims of COVID-19 as 41-year-old Natalia Chansler and 59-year-old David Andy McCormick. It is not reported whether these teachers were vaccinated. While schools are closed, they will be completely disinfected.

In general, since the start of the new school year on August 18, more than fifty cases of new coronavirus pneumonia have been confirmed at Connally Junior High alone.

Earlier, Republican Governor Greg Abbott (Greg Abbott) his order banned Texas schools to require the mandatory use of masks by teachers and students. The state's highest court opposed this position of the governor.
